CodeCampKidz Intermediate Class to Start

codecampkidzFor Grades Six and Seven students, a new CodeCampKidz series of eight classes is starting on March 16, 2016, at Wayland Middle School.

Taught by Rian Sousa, a software developer with more than 20 years of experience and the founder of CodeCampKidz, the intermediate level class will meet on Wednesdays from 1:10 pm to 2:15 pm. Sousa began teaching the after-school classes last year through Wayland School Community Programs.

In this intermediate level class, students will learn how to make pages interactive with Javascript and JQuery UI. Sousa says students will learn about Javascript functions, JQuery selectors, and programming events. As far as experience level needed, Sousa says Level 3 is open to all students who have some experience with HTML and CSS, but they don’t necessarily have to have gained that experience through prior classes with him.
