A self-described bookworm, Ann Knight relished regular trips to the library as a child to borrow books. “My mother always took me to the library,” Knight said. “I remember it as my favorite place.” When she was a teenager, her first job was working at Johnson County Library’s Corinth Library in Prairie Village, Kansas. About five decades later, Knight is preparing to retire on Friday after serving as director of Wayland Free Public Library since 2003.
