The following was submitted by the Wayland Police Department:
On Tuesday, November 25, 2014, the Wayland Police Department conducted undercover alcohol compliance checks of local businesses/establishments that have a liquor license. Two twenty (20) year old individuals were sent into establishments with instructions to attempt to purchase alcohol without showing any identification.
One, of the fifteen establishments checked, sold alcohol to the underage youths. Post Road Liquors, 44 Boston Post Road, failed the compliance check and allowed the underage individual to purchase alcohol. This establishment will be referred to the Board of Selectman for a Liquor Violation Hearing.
The Wayland Police Department regularly conducts compliance checks at local businesses in an effort to reduce the underage consumption of alcohol.
