SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE AGAIN
Professor Helen Whall of the College of the Holy Cross is back this spring for a series entitled “Shakespeare in Love Again.” The last two meetings are May 14 (Much Ado About Nothing) and May 28 (Anthony and Cleopatra). Join us for lively discussion of these popular plays.
FAMILY SING-A-LONG CONCERT
Jeannie Mack will perform all kinds of fun, bounce-around, sing-a-long songs for young children and their parents/caregivers. This is a lively and fun performance that will have children singing, dancing, and clapping! Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m. For ages 2 and up.
ARTISTS OF PLACE WITH JUDY SCHURGIN
Judy Schurgin will give two more Tuesday afternoon talks in May about artists who are identified strongly with a particular place: Winslow Homer (May 13) and Georgia O’Keeffe (May 20). Come learn about how certain landscapes inspired these artists and their work. Both programs will be on Tuesdays at 1 p.m.
MOVIE VIEWING: UNDER OUR SKIN
Tick season is definitely upon us and in honor of Lyme Disease Awareness Month, librarian Rachel Sideman-Kurtz will be showing “Under Our Skin” in the Raytheon Room on Thursday, May 29, from 1-3 p.m. The film highlights the hidden epidemic of Lyme Disease and how our health care system is failing to address it. It was an Academy Award semifinalist for documentary feature and won numerous awards at local and international film festivals.
TIME TRADE CIRCLE ORIENTATION
Have you ever noticed that people are good at different things? Time Trade Circles let people share skills and get help from others who offer things they need. When you spend an hour helping another member, one hour credit is added to your account. You can spend your earned hours getting services from over 900 other members. Parent/Child Book Group
The next meeting of our parent/child book group (for children in grades 4 and 5 with a parent) will be Wednesday, May 28, from 7-8 p.m. in the Children’s Room. Each month we discuss a different book. ZUMBA KIDS JR.
On Wednesday, May 28, from 10:30-11 a.m., children ages 2.5 to 4 years old can join us for a rhythm and dance program led by Julia Walderzak of H2K Happy Healthy Kids Fitness Studio in Sudbury.
LEGO CLUB
Our Lego Club for ages 5 and up will meet on Wednesday, May 14, at 3 p.m. in the library’s Raytheon Room. This month’s theme is Star Wars.
FICTION BOOK GROUPS
Our Noontime Book Group will meet at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 6. The selection is “Swimming Home” by Deborah Levy. Our Evening Book Group will meet on Monday, June 2, from 7-9 p.m. and will be discussing “Good Omens” by Gaiman and Pratchett. New members are always welcome at all our book groups.
NON-FICTION BOOK GROUP AT LAST!
There’s a lot of great non-fiction these days, and we’re starting a group to talk about it. Led by our own Nancy McMenemy-McColm, the first meeting is on Monday, June 16, 7-9 p.m. and the first title is Edward Slingerland’s “Trying Not to Try: The Art and Science of Spontaneity.” Come join the conversation!

Interior Design for All Ages and Abilities
Wayland resident Tica de Moor and co-founder Connie Fong of Inclusive Interiors will present a program on functional and thoughtful interior design that appropriately meets the needs of persons of all ages and abilities. Learn about universal design principles and how to apply them. Discover how simple changes to your house can “lift” your home to the next level of functionality and design. Tica and Connie will discuss interior design as it relates to different physical abilities and life situations such as “aging in place,” multigenerational households, and “solo” living.
