Wayland Town Crier 6/12/14: Wayland rate hearing for new treatment facility canceled. The Wastewater Management District Commission (WWMDC) meeting this evening, which was slated to include discussion of rates for the new $5.6 million wastewater treatment facility serving the Town Center development and various businesses and residents along Rte. 20, has been canceled. According to a statement from a previous commission meeting, “Working together, the Wayland Wastewater Management District Commission and Board of Selectmen have decided to pursue betterments to finance the capital costs of the wastewater treatment facility. Since betterments are part of the FY2015 budget, we do not need to hold a rate hearing.
