Wayland Town Crier 6/14/14: Wayland 2014 grads give high school a unique class gift. The Wayland High School senior class gift to their alma mater this year is a boulder.
“(A high school senior) came to me and the two assistant principals with this idea and we were like, ‘What? A boulder?’” remembered Interim Principal John Richie. “So they drop this thing out in front of the school, in a very prominent location, and … it’s gorgeous.”
Wayland High graduate Lucas Boegehold said the idea came to the senior class executive committee as a joke until the students realized a constantly repainted giant rock was something some college campuses showcased.
