Proclamation 2 is eleven supremely radical local teenagers making radical theater with Harvard scholars and A.R.T. artists. Proclamation 2 is the kind of immersive, electric, grab-you-by-the-collar performance event that could only happen at OBERON. Inspired by themes of rebellion, protest culture and the American underground, Proclamation 2 was built from the ground up during a full semester after-school program at the A.R.T. WHS senior Isabel Pongratz is a member of the 11-person cast.
“Occupy OBERON” alongside a mysterious group of protesters squatting in the A.R.T.’s second stage. It’s ground zero for a youth revolution to rip it up and start again, to deny the status quo’s urge to hurry up and conform, to announce loudly that the problems they stand to inherit from the previous generation are symptoms of a broken society. Will you listen? Will you join up or turn away?
Performances are Saturday, Nov 8 at 2 PM and Sun Nov 9 at 7:30 PM. For information and tickets visit americanrepertorytheater.org. There is no charge for this performance.
Note: tickets online may appear to be sold out, but no one will be turned away. Just show up at the door!
