On Tuesday, November 4, George Gantz of Wayland presented “The Technology Race and the Human Race” to a crowd gathered for the Wayland Library’s Great Presenters Series. He engaged the audience with questions like have we lost the ability to control technology? Is technology leading to the end of the Earth and humankind?

Phil will reflect on how we move toward a better energy future from the perspective of nearly 40 years in the energy field. The presentation will provide a broad overview of our current energy circumstances, as well as projections for what the future holds. He will focus on changes he has observed, as well changes he has been able to help make happen. He will discuss energy challenges and opportunities, including why our consumption choices matter, current and future innovations, and transformative opportunities.
Phil Giudice is currently the CEO of Ambri, a startup commercializing a new battery technology invented at MIT. He served as Massachusetts Undersecretary of Energy and Commissioner of the Department of Energy Resources during Governor Patrick’s first term. Trained as a geologist, he has also been an energy executive and a management consultant. He started his career as an exploration geologist.
