Wayland Town Crier 12/6/14: Wayland vet discusses acupuncture for pets. Dr. Flavia Zorgniotti of Wayland’s Phoenix Veterinary Hospital visited the Wayland Library on Nov. 18 to talk about the benefits and misconceptions of veterinary acupuncture.
Pets find acupuncture extremely relaxing, like many of their human companions, and she says they barely feel those needles all over their bodies! Veterinary acupuncture is sometimes seen as the last stop for animals in pain. Patients come to her already having cancer, or they can’t walk, or they are physically suffering in some way. The pets have often been through conventional Western treatments like chemotherapy, pharmaceutical drug courses, and orthopedic procedures.
