Wayland Police have charged Michael R. DiBona, age 18, of Wayland with Operating to Endanger, Speeding, and Marked Lanes Violation, following an investigation into a one car motor vehicle crash that occurred on Loker Street at 2:44 P.M. yesterday.
DiBona was operating the vehicle that left the roadway and struck a tree resulting in injuries to himself and his two passengers, Daniel J. Hochberger, age 16, and Aleksey J. Golden, age 17, both of Wayland. DiBona and Hochberger were transported by ambulance to Metrowest Framingham Hospital and Golden was transported by Medflight helicopter to Mass. General Hospital.
Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been travelling east on Loker Street, when the operator lost control, crossed the center of the roadway and then left the roadway striking a large tree. Excessive speed was a contributing factor in the accident. Two good Samaritans, who had been riding their bicycles, heard the crash and responded to the crash scene and administered first aid. Wayland Police and Fire personnel arrived shortly thereafter.
