Pooch Parade & Festival, organizational meeting January 21

rotary international logoThe first annual Pooch Parade & Festival, organized by the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland for the delight of our combined communities and the benefit of local animal charities, is being planned for late spring, 2015.

Please attend an informational and organizational meeting from 7-7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21 at the Weston Community Center, 20 Alphabet Lane (near the intersection of Wellesley Street and School Street). All people, perspectives, and ideas will be enthusiastically welcomed; Pooches are not invited to this meeting.

Current members of the Organizing Committee envision this year’s inaugural event as a 4-hour experience on the Weston Town Green that will feature a Pooch Parade, demonstrations and contests showcasing pet prowess and proficiencies, as well as an opportunity for dogs and their humans to meet people, organizations, and businesses that care about them.

100% of registration fees for the event will go to support local animal charities.

The purpose of the January 21st meeting is to gauge interest, collect ideas, meet prospective collaborators, and plan the next steps. If you are interested in helping out with this event or in learning more, we hope to see you there.
