Paul and Jessica Schendel“SOWING THE SEED: BRINGING SCIENCE TO RURAL UGANDA”
In 2009, Wayland residents Paul and Jessica Schendel went to Uganda to volunteer with a grassroots community organization. While there, they became aware of the lack of local medical services and the lack of science teaching in schools. In response to this need, they conceived the idea of the SEED Institute (Science Education to Enhance Development) to train science teachers. On Tuesday, February 3, at 7:30 p.m. they will appear as the next Great Presenters program to talk about their collaboration with local leaders in making this vision become a reality.
