Cheryl Fertig is retiring from The Children’s Way after 18 years. Below are photos from her retirement party.

Children’s Way Director Cheryl Fertig, center, was guest of honor at an ice cream social on June 1. Current staff, preschoolers and their families, as well as past students gathered to celebrate her retirement. Here, she poses with current staff.

The event was sponsored by Defina Demersky Design, Inc., a Wayland landscape and property maintenance company, with ties to The Children’s Way. Co-owner Joey Defina is a graduate of The Children’s Way as is his partner Jack Demersky’s younger sister. Other graduates of TCW – from middle schoolers to college students – came back to wish Fertig well.

Louis, a current TCW student, celebrated with his sister Kyra, mother Allyson Mizoguchi, and Director Cheryl Fertig.

As TCW director, Cheryl dedicated 18 years of her early childhood career to Wayland’s program. Here, first year WSCP director Pat Keefe congratulates Fertig.
