Wayland High School will begin its search for a new Athletic Director in July. We are looking for interested parties that represent the many different stakeholders in the Athletics program to form a Selection Advisory Committee (SAC). The Selection Advisory Committee will be charged with paring down the field of applicants to three finalists who will be forwarded to my office for further consideration. During its work together, the SAC will define candidate selection criteria, review applications, develop interview questions and conduct interviews.
The Selection Advisory Committee will be facilitated by High School Assistant Principal Ethan Dolleman and will be comprised of a broad group of community members including three students, three parents, three coaches, one administrative assistant and Mr. Dolleman. SAC members will be selected from the pool of volunteers in order to capture a varied constituency. Parents will be chosen by the Wayland Boosters Association. Special attention will be paid to ensure that teams of all genders, seasons and sizes will be represented to the best of our ability.
The Selection Advisory Committee will meet four times in the month of July. Meetings will be as follows:
- Monday, July 6th 9:00AM – 12:00PM – Discussion: Process, Selection Criteria and Create Interview Questions
- Wednesday, July 8th 9:00AM – 12:00PM – Discussion: Review Interview Questions, Discuss Applicants and Select Interviewees
- Monday, July 13th 9:00AM – 3:30PM – Interviews
- Tuesday, July 14th 9:00AM – 3:30PM – Interviews and Selection of Finalists
In order to participate, it is critical that volunteers can attend all meetings and interviews.
