Sudbury Valley Trustees’ Herb Garden Tour and Workshop at Stearns Farm

Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) and Stearns Farm in Framingham are offering a unique opportunity to tour the Stearns Farm culinary herb gardens with the herb garden managers. Participants will learn about the wide variety of herbs that can be grown in a backyard garden. Leaders will share how to properly harvest and preserve herbs for winter use. Participants will harvest and take home a selection of herbs harvest along with a wealth of new knowledge to get started on a new herb gardening journey. Tour and workshop are scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Registration is required and space is limited; $5 donation suggested. Stearns Farm farms this beautiful and historic piece of land, owned by SVT, in a natural and sustainable way, with no chemicals or pesticides. For over 20 years, Stearns has operated as a CSA and now offers both summer and winter shares. SVT is a regional land trust supported by nearly 3000 members to protect and care for land and wildlife habitat in 36 communities surrounding the Concord, Assabet, and Sudbury Rivers.
