Tickets are now available for the 2nd Annual TEDx Youth@Wayland on Saturday, April 2 from 5-9pm at Wayland High School. Tickets are $27.37 and can be purchased at www.tedxyouthwayland.org and at Wayland High School and Wayland Middle School front offices if sold-out online.
Topics will range from net neutrality, educating teens on what they really need to know about sex, and overcoming adversity through fashion to myths about gamers, shyness to singing, mass incarceration, conquering anorexia through service and more.
The event will also feature a slam poetess, pianist, jazz quartet and performance-art troupe.
The impressive roster of speakers/performers includes Joshua Lee, William Barton, Lucas Montes Soza, Ariella Fuzaylov, Rachel Lorenc, Larissa Sehringer, Cameron O’Neill, Philip McGonagle, David Tisme, Abby McCarthy, Tyler Johnsen and Callie Junkin, Sophia Calder, Chris Laven, Gabi Ragazzi, Lucas Bowditch, Naiya Davis and others.
Wayland resident Ashley Welch initiated TEDxYouth@Wayland last year and is excited for the 2nd annual event.
“The core team and coaches are working overtime to support the speakers and performers and to create a dynamite experience for our audience. Our theme this year is ‘Rising Strong’. You won’t want to miss it!” comments Welch.
