Join the Massachusetts Prevention Alliance at the Pooch Parade and Festival on the Weston Town Green

Saturday, May 14, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland will hold its second annual Pooch Parade and Festival on the Weston Town Green. When you register in advance through the Massachusetts Prevention Alliance — 100% of your ticket cost goes directly to this charitable partner working to protect youth and families from addiction and drug use in the Commonwealth.

The Weston Pooch Parade will be a day of events, learning and fun. There will be a celebratory promenade around the green at 12:30 p.m. led by Instagram canine celebrities with awards to participants, including best costumes.

Before and after the parade, check out samples and gifts and learn from service providers in the Festival Area of the Weston Town Green. Contests will be held during the day for best trick, best tail wagger, pooch-person look alike, best kisser, best singer, etc. There will be demonstrations and a lot of activity going on. Much of the fun comes from just being together, seeing the different dogs and meeting their owners. Whether you own a dog, want to own a dog or just love dogs you will have a barking good time!

Throughout the day you may bid on professionally designed and constructed dog houses in the “Designer Doghouse Auction”.

The Massachusetts Prevention Alliance (MAPA) is a charity partner of the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland’s Pooch Parade. MAPA is a nonpartisan, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that advocates, educates and collaborates to protect young people from addiction and substance abuse by working with local organizations like WaylandCares to educate, advocate and build partnerships that work to prevent youth substance abuse and addiction.
