Wayland Town Crier 8/11/16: Wayland selectmen: Volunteers eager to serve. One important responsibility of the Board of Selectmen is making appointments to a number of town boards and committees. It is challenging, rewarding and difficult – challenging to recruit good candidates for important, but sometimes unappreciated, jobs and to balance committee needs with individual interests; rewarding to find and appoint good volunteers; and difficult when there are more good candidates than there are vacancies on committees.
