Wayland Patch 12/3/13: Wayland Appoints New Interim TA. Wayland selectmen on Monday formally appointed Robert Mercier as the new interim town administrator. “I think I am going to enjoy this a lot,” Mercier said, noting he recently toured Wayland to familiarize himself with the community. The vote comes in the wake of selectmen firing former town administrator Fred Turkington in August. Since then, John Senchyshyn has worked as the interim town administrator. Senchyshyn previously said he would return his assistant town administrator and human resources duties when Mercier takes over. The town is still working to choose a new permanent town administrator.
