Wayland Town Crier 12/3/13: Wayland resident creates a ‘Misfit Sock’ tradition. Some of the best lessons in life we learn from young ones, for they have a way of finding possibility in the most unsuspecting places and seeing potential in almost everything. Their unabashed optimism is something to behold, especially when they are advocating fiercely to right a wrong and teach us all a lesson in the process. Such was the case when the young Kiefer girls of Wayland found hope in a pile of misfit socks on their laundry room floor, years ago, and made a promise to make those marginalized socks feel loved again.
