Wayland Town Crier 12/7/13: State schedules hearing on MetroWest area online school. The state’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has scheduled a public hearing on a local collaborative’s application to start a virtual school in the region. The Education Cooperative, which counts Framingham, Natick, Hopkinton, Holliston and Wayland, as well as Medfield and Millis, as members, hopes to open the TEC Connections Academy next year. If approved by the state in February, the academy would be only the second fully online Commonwealth Virtual School to open in Massachusetts. The hearing is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the education department’s Malden site.
