SEPAC Book Discussion, Tuesday, January 14

SEPAC Book Discussion, Tuesday, January 14 at 7PM . Please join us for another great book discussion, on Tuesday, January 14 from 7-9 pm in the Senior Center at the Town Building. This year we will be looking at Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg’s best selling “Building Resilience in Children and Teens-Giving Kids Roots and Wings.” Most of us realize that our children face a great deal of pressure to achieve. Kids today begin building their resumes before they enter high school and there is tremendous pressure to excel at in every arena. Although we hear about how stressful and unhealthy this can be, how do we help them manage what has become a societal norm? In the end, being the best and the brightest is often not enough if a person is not able to recover from failures and trying times. Dr. Ginsburg explores the issues of stress and resilience and gives practical advice on how we can help raise children who bounce instead of shatter when confronted by difficulties. One of our favorite people, Cathy Milton, a former Claypit Hill teacher, will be leading our discussion. We hope you can join us for a thought provoking discussion. If you have not had time to read the book, come join us anyway! Last year’s we tackled “Far From the Tree” by Andrew Solomon and we had a great time doing it! We look forward to another enjoyable evening and hope to see you there. Please contact Laura Malnight or at 508-358-0283 if you have any questions about this event.
