Wayland Town Crier 3/1/14: Wayland preschool parents concerned about OPEB contribution. The Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) Advisory Committee to the Board of Selectmen has developed a plan to extract money from The Children’s Way (TCW) preschool’s revolving reserve account and put it into the town’s OPEB fund. The amount of money that the OPEB Advisory Committee has proposed extracting would decimate the TCW program’s reserve program. The money that is in the revolving accounts of these fee-based programs is from tuition paid by families. It is not taxpayer money. This money is used for important capital expenditures such as building maintenance and updates.
