Update on Bicycle Accident from Wayland Police

The investigation of the motor vehicle vs. bicycle accident by Wayland Police Accident Reconstructionist, Officer Mark Wilkins, and members of the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, is ongoing. No charges have been filed in this case.
On July 31st, at approximately 5:50 P.M a vehicle being operated by James Carmichael (age 19) of 188 Oxbow Road, struck a bicyclist, Raul Lopez (age 12) of 88 Oxbow Road as the bicycle entered the roadway from a private driveway. Lopez sustained serious injuries to his legs and was transported to Tufts Medical Center by a Medflight helicopter. As of today, he is listed in good condition at the hospital.
