Tom Antonellis looking for donations for HopeWalks

The following was sent by Tom Antonellis:

For the third year in a row I am asking for help in my fundraising efforts for the Vernon Cancer Center’s Integrative Services Programs. These are the people that provide the support for patients and their families “ living with treatment. Most of you know my wife continues her treatment for breast as well skin cancer and other family members have been treated at the Center over the last two years as well. My motivation has been strengthened even more recently by hearing that yet another close friend is now starting the challenging road of chemotherapy at the Center.

On Sunday, September 28th, I am part of The A Team participating in the 5th annual HopeWalks event at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Proceeds raised by HopeWalks will benefit cancer patients by supporting the Integrative Support Services offered at the Vernon Cancer Center. These life-enhancing services help reduce symptoms, improve quality of life, and provide support during/after treatment. They include a Patient Navigator, nutritional support, genetic programs, the Pappas PACT (Parenting At a Challenging Time) Program, social/psychological services, therapeutic mind-body programs, and educational/support workshops.

I heard a comedian once say, “They need to get going and cure this cancer thing; I am so tired of walking!â€? Yes, there ARE a lot of walks out there. Research, treatment and support services are all vital for moving forward towards a cancer free life. There are many times we are asked to donate or participate for an important cause. We can only do so much. I get it. But if you can find a way to donate any amount I would be so grateful. The need for these “living and dealing with cancerâ€? services is an often overlooked part of the big picture. The A Team is excited to participate in HopeWalks 2014 to raise funds and send a strong signal of HOPE to all those touched by cancer. Donating through this website to any of our team members is simple, fast, and secure. Online go to: http://giving.nwh.org/2014-hopewalks/2014-hopewalks—pfp?tab=0&frsid=3331

It is the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
