Wayland, L-S students emphasize importance of standing up to abuse

Wayland Town Crier 1/10/17: Wayland, L-S students emphasize importance of standing up to abuse. Megan Chunias recalled an ex-boyfriend would try to get her to put on more makeup. “I realized I was only doing that to please him,” Chunias said while sharing her experience at a meeting of the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable on Tuesday. “I thought I was so in love I didn’t even question it,” the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School student said. Now, Chunias and other students involved with the Mentors in Violence Prevention program hope to help more students realize signs they may be in an unhealthy relationship.
